Overview - Pereira
Located on the Otún River, Pereira is the capital of and the largest city by population in Risaralda. It has approximately 467,000 inhabitants in the city proper as of 2018. The Pereira metropolitan area comprised 709,322 residents as of the 2018 DANE census estimate.
Pereira's rapid transit network consists of three bus rapid transit services and a gondola lift service.
Megabús
Opened 2006, Megabús consists of three bus rapid transit services that serve the cities of Pereira and Dosquebradas, Risaralda and the surrounding suburbs.
Line 1 (Línea 1)
Megabús Line 1 is a bus rapid transit service on an East-West alignment. It runs from Cuba in the west to Dosquebradas in the east bypassing downtown Pereira, serving 22 stations of which two are in a single direction only.
Line 1 was opened in August 2006.
Line 2 (Línea 2)
Megabús Line 2 is a bus rapid transit service on an East-West alignment. It runs from Cuba in the west to Dosquebradas in the east via downtown Pereira, serving 22 stations of which 18 are in a single direction only.
Line 2 was opened in August 2006.
Line 3 (Línea 3)
Megabús Line 3 is a bus rapid transit service on an East-West alignment. It runs from Cuba in the west to Libertad in the east, serving 24 stations of which 18 (including the eastern terminus) are in a single direction only.
Line 3 was opened in August 2006.
Megacable
Megacable
Megacable is a gondola lift service on a Northwest-Southeast alignment. It runs from Olaya in the northwest to Las Brisas in the southeast, serving 4 stations.
Megacable was opened in August 2021.
