Overview - São José dos Campos
Located in the Paraíba Valley, São José dos Campos is the seat of São José dos Campos Municipality. It has approximately 730,000 inhabitants in the city proper as of 2020. The São José dos Campos metropolitan area comprised 2,528,354 residents as of the 2020 IBGE census estimate.
São José's rapid transit network consists of two bus rapid transit services.
VLP São José
Opened 2022, São José dos Campos's VLP/BRT network consists of two bus rapid transit services that serve the city of São José dos Campos, São Paulo and the surrounding suburbs.
Green Line (Linha Verde)
The Linha Verde is a bus rapid transit line on a North-South alignment. It runs from Terminal Sul in the south to Maurício Cury and Vila Bandeirantes (Rodoviária) in the north, serving 13 stations of which seven is served in a single direction only. The Verde - Centro service runs to Maurício Cury, bypassing Vila Sanches. The Verde - Rodoviária service runs to Vila Bandeirantes. Both services reverse branch into one directional loops in the city center.
The Linha Verde was opened in July 2022 for trail operation, with all day service starting September 2022. The last expansions to the service were the opening of the Rodoviário branch in October 2022 and the Centro branch in December 2022.
