Overview - Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport

Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport [fr] (IATA: CDG; ICAO: LFPG) serves the city of Paris and the region of the Île de France.


Service to the city and region is provided through Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1 and Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 Stations, located on-site. There is a connecting service between the stations. Within the airport, there is an additional internal service.

The RER [fr] serves the airport through Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1 Station [fr] and Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 Station [fr] on the RER B [fr], located at Terminal 3 and Terminal 2, respectively. Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 1 was opened on May 30, 1976, while Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 was opened on May 29, 1994. As of December 2022, 8 trains operate an hour to the city center (Gare du Nord [fr]) on weekdays off peak, serving both stations.

The TGV serves the airport through Aéroport Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV [fr] on the LGV Interconnexion Est Line [fr], located at Terminal 2. This station was opened on May 29, 1994. Multiple services operate through this station to destinations across the country.

Connector Services

The CDGVAL Line 1 connects the three airport terminals.

CDGVAL Line 1

CDGVAL [fr] Line 1 is a 3.5 km VAL 208 people mover service that connects Terminal 1, Parc PR, Terminal 3 - Roissypole, Parc PX, and Terminal 2 - Gare stations. This service began in April 4, 2007. Connections to the RER B can be made at Terminal 3 - Roissypole and Terminal 2 - Gare stations.


The service uses VAL 208 rolling stock, run in two car consists with three doors on each side per car. The system is fully grade separated.

Internal Services

The CDGVAL Line 2 connects various the satellite terminals of Terminal 2E.

CDGVAL [fr] Line 2 AKA the LISA (Liaison Interne Satellite Aérogare) is a 1 km VAL 208 people mover service that connects Terminal 2E's K, L, and M gates. This service began in June 27, 2007, with the last extension to Satellite 4 on June 18, 2012.


The service uses VAL 208 rolling stock, run in two car consists with three doors on each side per car. The system is fully grade separated.
