At The Hellerhuizen Trunk Bus Routes, we pride ourselves on providing an excellent intercity bus rapid transit experience, with urban and suburban service into our hubs, both trunk and express services between hubs, multimodal connections with airports, and connections with local transit options.

As my ninth multiplayer OpenTTD map, Hellerhuizen was a new experiment, this time with a standardized bus rapid transit approach... again. When will I stop? Anyhow, this time was 'different' in that there was infrastructure sharing (a friend did feeders that were integrated into the network), standardized ROW and station design (which turned out to be awful because I standardized with two separate local and trunk standards that didn't support direct upgrading), and use of one-way bus stops thanks to JGRPP. In the end, this was a short-lived map but one that paved the way for the next one.

As far as the mapping goes, this map was one of the first to lock to a grid and attempt to show the stations using their actual positions. Granted, the nature of the map did not make this easy (especially the fact that the lines and stations were not built to the internal OpenTTD grid) but it proved to be vastly easier for building full maps at the cost of requiring a scale representation for the entire OpenTTD map.
