Overview - Manizales

Located at in the Colombian Andes, Manizales is the capital of and largest city by population in Caldas. It has 434,000 inhabitants in the city proper as of 2018. The Manizales metropolitan area comprised 552,155 residents as of the 2018 DANE census.


Manizales's rapid transit network consists of two gondola lift services.

Manizales Aerial Tramway (Cable Aéreo de Manizales)

Opened 2009, the Manizales Aerial Tramway consists of two gondola lift services that serve the city of Manizales, Caldas and the surrounding suburbs.

Line 1

Line 1 of the Manizales Aerial Tramway is a gondola lift service on a North-South alignment. It runs from Fundadores in the north to Cámbulos in the south, serving 3 stations.


Line 1 was opened in October 2009. Line 1 is owned and operated by Infi-Manizales.

Line 2

Line 2 of the Manizales Aerial Tramway is a gondola lift service on a Northeast-Southwest alignment. It runs from Cámbulos in the in the northeast to Villamaría in the southwest, serving 2 stations.


Line 2 was opened in 2013. Line 2 is owned and operated by Infi-Manizales.
