Overview - Los Teques

Located southwest of Caracas, Los Teques is the capital of Miranda. It has approximately 251,200 inhabitants in the city proper as of 2018. The Los Teques metropolitan area (Altos Mirandinos) comprised 454,929 residents as of the 2013 INE census estimate.


Los Teques's rapid transit network consists of two metro lines with one service.

Los Teques Metro

Opened 2006, Los Teques Metro consists of two metro lines served by one service that serves the city of Los Teques, Miranda and the surrounding suburbs.

Lines 1 & 2 (Líneas 1 y 2)

Lines 1 and 2 of the Los Teques Metro comprise a metro service on a North-South alignment. Line 1 runs from Las Adjuntas in the north to Alí Primera in the south, serving 3 stations. Line 2 runs from Alí Primera in the north to Independencia in the south, serving 3 stations. They operate as one service.


The Los Teques Metro was opened in November 2006 and the last extension to the line was to Independencia in December 2013. Lines 1 and 2 are owned by the Government of Venezuela and operated by C. A. Metro de Caracas.
