Overview - Cartagena

Located on the Caribbean Sea, Cartagena (Cartagena de Indias) is the capital of and the largest city by population in Bolívar. It has approximately 914,000 inhabitants in the city proper as of 2020. The Cartagena metropolitan area comprised 1,028,736 residents as of the 2018 DANE census.


Cartagena's rapid transit network consists of a single bus rapid transit line.

TransCaribe

Opened 2015, TransCaribe consists of a bus rapid transit line that serves the city of Cartagena, Bolívar.

Troncal Pedro de Heredia

TransCaribe's only line is a bus rapid transit line on an East-West alignment. It runs from La Bodeguita in the west to Patio Portal in the east, serving 18 stations primarily along Av. Venezuela and Av. Pedro de Heredia.


TransCaribe was opened in November 2015.
